Bread Patties
A recipe for using up old bread leftovers. If possible, slice bread and rolls thinly before drying.
Ingredients
- 325g dried bread/rolls
- 4 onions
- 1L milk
- 4 eggs
- 5 heaped tbsp wheat flour
- 125g ham cubes
- Salt
- Pepper
- Frying oil
- Applesauce
Instructions
- Heat the milk in a large pot and soak the bread and roll slices in it. Depending on the type of bread, a little more or less milk may be needed. If the bread is very hard, it may take a while to fully soak.
- Once the bread is soft, blend the mixture with a hand blender.
- Peel the onions, cut into small cubes and add to the bread mixture.
- Add the eggs, flour and ham cubes and mix everything well.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat some oil in a pan and fry the patties in batches. If the mixture is too runny, add a little more flour.
The patties taste best with applesauce and can also be frozen.
Enjoy your meal!
